Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: As New. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Near Fine. Mollica, Greg (jacket design); Kay, Justin Thomas (title-type design) Ilustrador. 1st Edition. As new condition gold boards, gold spine, and gold spine lettering contained in an as new condition non price-clipped color photographic dust jacket. Includes Author Dedication; Acknowledgments Part 1; Acknowledgments Part 2; Photograph Credits; and About the Authors. A less than one inch repaired closed tear at the lower dust jacket spine edge; the jacket is otherwise in as new condition (see photographs). Illustrated with a section of both black-and-white and color photographic plates. "Baba Booey! Baba Booey! It was a slip of the tongue - which unfortunately was heard by a few million listeners - but in that split second a nickname, a persona, a rallying cry, and a phenomenon were born. Some would say it was the moment Gary Dell'Abate, the long-suffering, heroic, tireless producer of The Howard Stern Show, finally came into his own. In They Call Me Baba Booey, Dell'Abate explains how his early life was the perfect training ground for the day-to-day chaos that comes with producing the most popular radio show on earth. Growing up on Long Island in the 1970s, the youngest of three boys born to a clinically depressed mother and a World War II veteran father, Gary learned how to fend for himself when under attack. His oldest brother, Anthony, was a hippie bent on rebellion; Steven, the quiet middle child, harbored secrets of his own. Gary became obsessed with music at an early age. He listened with religious intensity to Casey Kasem's Top 40 every Sunday morning, compulsively bought 45sof his favorite songs, and nerdily copied the lyrics into a notebook. Music became an ordering principle of his life, even as his mother's moods swung ever wilder, his brothers broke free of the conventions that bound them, and the madness at home got out of hand. Dell'Abate's memoir sketches the trajectory from the obsessive trivia buff to the man in the beekeeper's mask who handily defeats his opponents playing "Stump the Booey." We learn about the memorable moments in his life that taught him to endure epic bouts of humiliation (Hello, hello?) and get his unique perspective on some of The Howard Stern Show's greatest hits, such as the U.S. Open Sores tournament or the day he nearly killed the umpire when he threw out the first pitch at a Mets game. Hilarious, painful, poignant, and eye-opening, They Call Me Baba Booey is Gary as you've never seen him before, telling a story that even Stern show insiders can't begin to imagine." - from the inner front and rear jacket flaps.
