Veranlassung dazu, der bewussten halben Groschen Anhalts von 1509 u. 10 zu gedenken, gab mir ein in dem Anf[an]g August in Zerbst gemachten [Gulden]- u. Theodor Stenzel machte sich mit historischen, genealogischen und vor allem numismatischen Studien zu seiner Heimat einen Namen. Die Beschreibung des Bracteatenfundes von Freckleben' 1862 ist seine erste größere, äußerst fleißige und gediegene Arbeit.
