Hardcover. Condición: Very Good. No Jacket. 3rd Edition. In Hebrew and English. 95 pages. 235 x 160 mm. Pasted on front pastedown in calligraphy is a label: "In honor of the sixtieth birthday of Charles H. Bendheim." Another label is pasted on the front blank, in beautiful calligraphy, in Hebrew. Apparently this was used at the…end of a dinner in honor of Charles Henry Bendheim, and he apparently financed the writing of a sefer Torah (the scroll of the Pentateuch, the Five Books of Moses) by a scribe on vellum. The scroll is then usually donated to a synagogue. Offered here is the Grace after meals etc printed book, not the Torah scroll. Charles Henry Bendheim (November 12, 1917 Brooklyn, New York - May 10, 1997 Jerusalem, Israel) Immediate Family: Son of Siegfried Meshulam Bendheim and Nannette Bendheim Husband of Els Bendheim. He was born in Brooklyn, raised in Manhattan's upper west side and lived his golden years in Jerusalem, Israel's eternal capital. He was a patron of Sha'arei Tzedek Hospital and other institutions.
