An extremely scarce printing of an early American mathematics textbook. A rare early Providence imprint. John Sterry (1766-1823) was a Providence-born Baptist clergyman who served as pastor of the First Baptist Church in Norwich, Connecticut. Marked as Volume I, but believed to be the only volume printed. A wonderful piece for restoration.

Contemporary calf,…red morocco title panel on spine faded. Binding extremities a bit worn, boards moderately scuffed. General browning and foxing. But overall tight and clean. Largest blemish is hole to multiple pages - doesn't hinder readability though. Volume 1 but as best as we can tell, this was the only volume published.
