Soft cover. Condición: Near Fine. Stapled, 8.5 X 11 inches. Handwritten note on the front cover regarding the content of this issue. Small sticker shadow and previous owner name inside the front cover. 76 pages [numbered 51-126]. Cover photo: John Samuel Shropshire (1833-1862), Confederate soldier from Columbuus, Texas. One arti…cle comprises the contents of this issue - Reminiscences of the Old Brigade, on the March, in the Tent, in the Field, as Witnessed by the Writers During the Rebellion. As noted by the previous owner on the cover, this issue's content concerns the Confederate reminiscences of William Lott Davidson who served with Company A, Fifth Texas Cavalry, organized in Columbus in the summer of 1861. The material appeared originally in an obscure Northeast Texas newspaper, The Overton Sharp-Shooter, in 1887-1888 in weekly installments. For this journal, Davidson's writing has been abridged to provide content within the scope of Colorado County history.
