Born in Wiltshire, he came to Norwich to practice architecture in about 1910. His buildings include St Mary's Baptist Church and the Howlett and White Shoe factory. He built many council houses, the earliest being in 1912 at Thetford. He was the author of 'Georgian Norwich: its Builders' and three volumes of 'Beautiful Norfolk Buildings'. Internally, an attractive copy. no inscriptions or marginalia. 1st.
