The Regiment lost a total of 9,460 officers and men and gained 8*V.C.s and 71 Battle Honours Battalions served on the Western Front, in Gallipoli, Macedonia, Mesopotamia, Italy, and Persia. The book includes an appendices providing the Roll of Honour; Honours and Awards including Mention in Despatches, with date of Gazette of other distinctions. An authentic first edition of The Worcestershire Regiment in the Great War by Captain H. FitzM. Stacke, published circa 1928 by G. T. Cheshire & Sons, Kidderminster. Hardcover in original gilt-blocked cloth, featuring vivid gilding on the regimental emblem on the front and spine. This volume is in very good condition: the binding is tight, the gilt remains clear and bright, edges show minimal bumping and internally very clean with no markings. A distinguished piece of regimental military history, comprehensive in scope and beautifully presented. Ideal for collectors and historians specializing in British military history and regimental studies.

Has number 119 to half title page so presumably part of a limited edition. Very slight rubbing to edges of boards but nothing of any significance, just some very light marking to front lower corner, titles to spine are slightly faded. Very good condition internally, very little reading wear, hinges tight, just some very light spotting to edge of text block. Happy to supply photos on request exception condition copy. This is an incredibly detailed account of the Regiments progress; many fold out maps and plans detailing battles and operations in areas such as Ypres, Flanders, Gallipoli, the Caspian Sea, the Caucasus and many more. He was commissioned into the Worcester Regiment in 1882 and in retirement became their Colonel.
