Hardcover. Condición: Good. Illustrated. Original brown embossed binding with gilt text and illustration on the spine. Some spotting on front board, and moth damage at joint of back board. There is some dark brown spotting and damage at the rear inside hinge, and on some of the pages near the end of the book. Stitching is visibl…e, but the binding is still relatively tight. Other than the pages mentioned above, the interior is relatively clean with no known marginalia. The pages are foxed and browned. There is a frontispiece illustration engraved by Anderson with the original artwork attributed to T. H. Matteson. This authorship appears to be the same for the other engravings scattered through the book. His command was in the southern theater of the war, in Virginia, Georgia, and South Carolina. 393 pages. Hardcover, good condition, 12mo.
