Simcoe came to America with the 35th Regiment in 1775, at the outbreak of the American Revolutionary War. From 1777 to 1781, he commanded the loyalist regiment known as the Queen's Rangers, which had been organized in 1776 by Col. Robert Rogers. Simcoe proved to be a very successful commander, and under his leadership, the Queen's Rangers developed a high degree of efficiency and a reputation for distinguished and honourable conduct. This is his history of the regiment and its operations in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, North and South Carolina, and Virginia. Heavy foxing throughout. Hinges cracked. Cloth binding scuffed with 2 inch tear at head of spine. Foldout maps present.
