Broschur. 159 Seiten, mit 130 Abbildungen. Verlagsfrisch, in Originalfolie eingeschweißt. mint. SEHR GUTER ZUSTAND. Condición: Gut. 160 pages, text in English, 130 illustrations, illustrated cover, still originally welded Yoon Ji Seon. Ed. by the Ilwoo Foundation, Seoul. With texts by Suejin Shin ; Young Min Moon. [Copyed.: Leina González] Rag face. Yoon Ji Seon (*1975 in Seoul) employs a wide range of techniques in her works ehile questioning the viewers fundamental visual habits. In her latest series, Rags Face, she adds sewing to her self-portraits, dirtorting her own face with rhythmic quilting stitches whose lines deliber-ately recall painting. Yoon suspends some of her works in the exhibition space so thar rhe front and back form a pair. She occasionally integrates traditional, handmade paper that dissolves as soon as it comes into contact with water, making it possible to see the connecting threads and the holes made by sewing needies that originally held the pirce together. In these furrowed faces, reminiscent of archaic masks, the artist deconstructs the human appearance and creates chimeras - some humorous, some nightmarish - that gaze steadfastly at the viewer.
