Het gaat hier om Anna Kuiper-Menalda (1861-1934), weduwe van de neerlandicus Esgo Taco Kuiper. Prachtig omslagontwerp, intens bruin-oranje expressionistisch - ook over rug en achterkant. Klassieke en oriëntalistische poëzie. Een afdeling verzen is opgedragen in herinnering aan Louis Couperus.
