Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fair. 1st Edition. "PHOTOGRAPHY AMERICA AND ALFRED STIEGLITZ A COLLECTIVE PORTRAIT 120 ILLUSTRATIONS. I am pleased to offer: "America and Alfred Stieglitz" edited by Waldo Frank-Lewis Mumford-Dorothy Norman-Paul Rosenfeld & Harold Rugg. Quoting from the flap of the dust jacket: This book "is a collective portrait of the central figure of the modern art movement in AmericaThe book presents the background the setting and a unified view of the life and work of Stieglitz Master of Photography and pioneer of modern art. Among its one hundred and twenty illustrations are reproductions of the first pictures by such painters and sculptures as Cezanne-Matisse-Picasso-Rodin-Marin-O Keeffe and Weber who were introduced and championed by Stieglitz." This medium-sized hard cover book (6 ½ x 9 ½ inches 339 pages) was published by the Literary Guild of New York dated 1934 and a First Edition (so stated). The book is bound in finely patterned black cloth with an embossed "S" on the cover and a silver gilt title panel on the spine. It is protected by a printed pictorial dust jacket. Condition: This book is in very good condition. The dust jacket, however, is a bit battered with significant edge wear and a fair-sized chunk missing in the upper right-hand corner. The hard covers are very presentable with some light bumping to the corners and spine tips. The silver gilt title panel is still clear and bright. Inside there is a handsome bookplate of a family library and then some stamps from a different owner (including on the top page edges). There is some faint toning to some of the pages- on the upper and leading-edge margins- decidedly difficult to see. I also noted some minor and scarce foxing on a few pages, typically the glossy paper of the plates (again you will have to search for it). Both hinges are intact, and the binding is tight and sound. This book is not ex-library or a remainder.".
