Añadir al carritoPaperback. Condición: At Least Very Good. 'Design of a Self-Optimizing Control System' as published in Transactions of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Vol. 80 No. 2 - February 1958 on page 468-478. A single unbound issue. Side stapled printed self-wraps, 4to (11-1/4 inches tall), pp. 257-509, [3 - blanks], illustrated with B&W photo reproductions, tables, charts and equations throughout. Volume with light soil and creases to cover, two pages noted with some ink underlining, else clean and unmarked. "This paper examines the problem for building a machine which adjusts itself automatically to control an arbitrary dynamic process. The design of a small computer which acts as such a machine is presented in detail. A complete set of the the equations describing the machine is derived and listed; engineering features of the computer are discussed briefly. This machine represents a new concept in development of automatic control systems." Quite an accomplishment, considering there were only an estimated 100 computers in the world in 1953. "Rudolf Emil Kálmán was a Hungarian-born American electrical engineer, mathematician, and inventor. He was most noted for his co-invention and development of the Kalman filter, a mathematical algorithm that is widely used in signal processing, control systems, and guidance, navigation and control. For this work, U.S. President Barack Obama awarded Kálmán the National Medal of Science on October 7, 2009." from wikipedia, accessed 04/19.
