Der Hortus Eystettensis, verfasst von dem Apotheker, Botaniker, Illustrator und Verleger Basilius Besler aus Nürnberg (1561-1629) war ein großformatiges Prachtwerk das in 2 oder 3 Foliobänden erstmals 1613 erschienen ist. Besler arbeitete ca. 7 Jahre an dem Buch und stellte um die 12 Graveure ein, die auf 367 Platten mit über 1000 Botanischen Motiven gravierten.
