Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Good. Edwin Smith Ilustrador. 1st Edition. This is a delightful original children's story written by a W. J. Roe in April 1938 for his son Michael Roe on his sixth birthday, with a tale that is obviously inspired by the A. A. Milne Winnie the Pooh Stories. The book titled Honey's Treasure, is the story of a child's teddy bear named Charles Augustus Honey Bear, and a much older bear named Pooh Bear. At night when the rest of the household is asleep they come alive, Charels Augustus Honey Bear is always looking for adventures to go on, and persuades the very reluctant Pooh Bear to accompany him on his latest adventure, the find a hole in the floor and there the adventure starts that will take them on a search for lost treasure and get caught up with a pirate ship and its crew. The book is bound in cloth with a leather title label to the front cover, just over 7.5 inches tall, and runs to 60 numbered pages, illustrated with many paintings, and smaller ink drawings in the page margins. On the first page of the book the author explains that the book was written for Michael Roe on his Sixth Birthday on May 2nd 1938, and on the final leaf as a footnote, he notes that he completed the book on 18th April 1938, and is signed with his initials W. J. R. there is some light marks to the covers, internally browning spots to a few of the pages else in good general condition. A lovely handmade manuscript book with a story clearly inspired by the Winnie The Pooh Stories.
