Abrams in 1998. First edition. 275 total pages. 300 beautiful illustrations, including 175 full-color plates, 26 duotone photographs, and 99 line drawings. Coffee table book/squarish quarto. 11.75" x 11" ABOUT THE ARTIST Daniel Brush (January 22, 1947 - November 26, 2022) was an American painter, sculptor and jeweler. He moved to New York City in 1977, where he focused his work on metals and jewels. In 1998, the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian American Art Museum organized the first exhibition of Brush's metalwork. It featured about 60 of his works. Over the course of thirty years, working in virtual seclusion from the mainstream, Daniel Brush has created an unparalleled body of work. His career includes international painting exhibitions, a fifteen-year period of seclusion and study, and an intense immersion into the mysteries of gold. His large-scale canvases and drawings - inspired by the expressive, disciplined gestures of the Noh theatre - integrate the artist's profound understanding of Asian thought with the removed drama in modernist painting. Brush's three-dimensional works- products of solitary thought, study and experimentation- are included in many public, private and royal collections. This book is a sampling of his works and is A MUST-HAVE for the lover of listed artist Daniel Brush's art, whose drawings and sculptures have sold in the tens of thousands of dollars and are collected by royalty and other prominent private owners across the world. CONDITION DESCRIPTION The book is in FINE collectible condition. Spine is square, corners are sharp, hinges and joints are firm, pages are tight, and boards are colorful and unfaded.
