Not a book but a 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm vinyl record album, stamped in gold gilt to upper right of jacket front panel "PROPERTY OF CAPITOL RECORDS INC. This album on loan for PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY. Holder agrees to return it on demand. Attempted sales are void and in violation of law." (This, of course, is nonsense. In early 2011, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in San Francisco ruled that if a record company sends unsolicited copies of a CD or LP out to radio stations or possible reviewers, they become the property of the recipient, to sell if they wish, despite the caveat, "For Promotional Use Only -- Not For Resale." In addition to considering whether the sender really meant to retain ownership, the court also relied on another law: the Unordered Merchandise Statute, which basically says that you can send free samples through the mail but if you're sending something unsolicited through the mail, the recipients can treat it as they like -- they can give it away, or sell it.) This is Barking Pumpkin Records ST-74204, near-mint vinyl in a "good" cardboard dust jacket with damage to the emulsion at lower outside corners -- looks like that emulsion partially adhered to next LPs in the stack. (Please see scans.) Loose lyric sleeve enclosed. Also features Scott Thunes, bass; Chad Wackerman, drums, and the timeless duo of Moon Zappa and Bobcat Goldthwait, additional vocals, offering "The Pirate Song," "You Can't Imagine," "I Feel Like I Wanna Cry," etc. Reduced from $14.
