The book is in very good condition with just some minor sun damage to the top of the cover, the contents are clean and unmarked. The dust jacket is good with minor sun damage and minor shelf-wear to extremities.

In 1953, Posner returned to formal academic pursuits and studied modern languages at Wadham College, Oxford. Posner also began writing poetry, in fact his poem, 'The Deserted Altar,' won the Newdigate Prize for English Verse in 1956. From 1957-1969, Posner was an English instructor and Assistant Curator of Poetry at the State University of New York at Buffalo. He became an assistant professor of English at the University of California and remained there until 1973. First edition (first printing). Very good in printed wrappers outside illustrated red wrappers, stapled. Small clipping from newspaper announcing that Posner has won the Roger Newdigate poetry prize for 1956 pasted to front free endpaper. Outside wrapper has separated from inside wrapper. Outside wrapper mildly soiled. Rust from paperclip on verso of rear free endpaper.

WIlliam Flemer, III Ilustrador. 1st Edition. 51pp. Volume I of "And Touch Clean Earth," Illustrated in linoleum by William Flemer III. 51pp. The first collection of poems by a poet who won the Newdigate Prize in 1956. The second volume (not included) was a collection of nature stdies by Flemer. In green wrappers with a linocut illustration. Sunning to extremities and small dampstain to hinge of wrappers. Internally fine.

First edition. 51 + 28 pp. Two volumes, each near fine in stapled wrappers with light sunning to spines, and a small spot to the front cover, and a bit of foxing to the fore-edge of volume II. The various contributors to this little project have previewed their eventual destinies: Posner went on to write *The Deserted Altar*, the Newdigate Prize Poem at Oxford in 1956; Flemer, a Yale-educated nurseryman and botanist, was profiled in the *New York Times* in 2004 for his contributions to the trees and landscapes of Princeton University; and Moment, who illustrated the front wrap of *And Touch*, went on to illustrate children's books.
