Small notation in pencil on the rear pastedown. Exterior dark green boards very clean but spine is darkened from exposure to light. Gilt lettering and design is still bright. Top and bottom edges of the spine a bit frayed. Rub wear to top and bottom edges of covers; corner tips are rubbed to the boards. The book will be bubble-wrapped and carefully packed in a sturdy box to ensure safe transit. This is a very heavy book that will require extra funds for shipping outside of the United States.

One pull out map of railroad construction in the United States is torn and has become detached but is laid in. Two leaves missing just in front of the general index--probably pages of advertisements. One other page missing just before the beginning of Poor's Directory of Railroad Officials. Hinges are cracked under the aforementioned white tape, and near the end of the book, pulled in the book's interior; pages still firmly bound in. The book's exterior covers and spine are quite clean. Spine is darkened from sun exposure. Gilt lettering still bright. Rub wear to the top and bottom edges, cover corners, to the boards in some places. Top and bottom edges of the spine a little frayed. A worn but still very useful copy of this important railroad reference. It will be bubble-wrapped and carefully packed in a sturdy box to ensure safe transit.
