Añadir al carrito[REFERENCE]. First editions. 4to. Twenty-six staple-bound offset bulletins., ranging from 1981, until 1990, just before the cessation of publication in 1990. Issues 1 through 27: NOTE: Two copies of issue number 1 (November 1981), one combined issue for Nos. 13 & 14, MISSING No. 16. First 8 issues show numbered with red marker i…n upper right corner. Numerous photographs as part of an attempt to link up Bony's whereabouts in Upfield's thirty-five or so novels which take place in the Australian outback roughly between the 1930's and 1950's. From 1981 to 1990 Philip T. Asdell, irregularly published a "fanzine" about the Australian writer Arthur Upfield's fabulous half-aborigine detective Napoleon Bonaparte, so named because when his parents were killed, he was found as an infant trying to read a thick volume of a biography of the life of that Emperor, and named after the subject of the book. Also known as "Bony." Bony becomes a detective on the Queensland Police Force. Upfield himself was the disappointing son, sent off to Australia in his early twenties. After some military experience, he spent the better part of twenty years, working various jobs in the Australian outback, becoming intimately familiar with the life, customs and beliefs of the Aboriginals. This is an uncommon publication that provides a wealth of information on Arthur W. Upfield, his detective "Bony," the story line for each of the books, and knowledge of all of the Upfield stories. Fine copies.
