Vintage keybook photograph of Ann Sothern from the set of the 1935 film, with three stamps on the verso, one crediting photographer Ray Jones, and a mimeo snipe on the verso. From the archive of noted Hollywood still photographer Ray Jones. Born in Wisconsin on January 1, 1901, Jones worked for Paramount Pictures in the early 19…30s, and went on to be the head of the still photography department at Universal Pictures in 1935, where he worked well into the 1950s. Ann Sothern is the daughter of a steamship line owner who stows away on one of her father's ships to Shanghai, whose captain and first mate have feelings for Sothern. 8 x 10 inches. Near Fine.
