The cover illustration is an original painting presented to the camp in 2003 by Jacque, an artist from Utah. The 1996 totem pole OLYMPICS is featured. Illustrated with color photographs. The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp was the inspiration and creation of Paul Newman (1925-2008), one of the great American actors of the 20th century. He supported the camp throughout his life.It was originally started to help children with cancer and later expanded its mission to include serious blood diseases such as hemophilia, sickle cell anemia, thalassemia and HIV/AIDS. Doc Pearson is the carver of the Totem Poles and keeper of the legends. They came together like most things at the Camp--a little planning, a lot of imagination, a little luck, and a lot of magic and love.
