Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: VG+. Ethel 'Bip' Pares Ilustrador. 1st Edition. Full of enthusiasm, young English schoolmaster Mr. Chipping came to teach at Brookfield in 1870. It was a time when dignity and a generosity of spirit still existed, and the dedicated new schoolmaster expressed these beliefs to his rowdy students. Nicknamed Mr. Chips, this gentle and caring man helped shape the lives of generation after generation of boys. He became a legend at Brookfield, as enduring as the institution itself. And sad but grateful faces told the story when the time came for the students at Brookfield to bid their final goodbye to Mr. Chips.[publisher]. 127pp, illustrated by 'Bip' Pares. Book shows a bright, clean interior. Tiny name in ink to the ffep with erasures to the page. Sound binding. No wear to the red cloth. The Dustjacket shows some light general wear, light edge wear. Tiny book weighing only 141g.

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good+. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Very Good dj. Illustrated by (dj) Bip Pares Ilustrador. Reprint. [good sound copy, lightly shelfworn, spine slightly turned; the jacket is a bit edgeworn, with a number of tiny chips along the top and bottom edges, but still quite attractive]. Thriller about an attache of the American Embassy at Petrograd (described in the text as "a young New Yorkers of a particularly masculine type") who is charged, during the chaos of the Russian Revolution, with smuggling the titular jewels (which are, of course, "priceless") out of Russia and delivering them to the daughter of their owners, a Prince and Princess, in Florence. Before the end of Chapter Two, he's acquired a traveling companion -- a young woman who as about to meet a Fate Worse Than Death at the hands of some brutish Bolsheviks -- and the two of them set off on their perilous journey, across the Polish frontier and smack into the middle of war-torn Europe. (Oh yeah, did I mention there was also a World War going on?) Per the jacket blurb, "those days of terror -- those days in 1917 that shook Russia and the whole world as well -- live again with startling reality." And as the New York Times reviewer noted: "A brave hero, a beautiful heroine, and a flock of bloodthirsty villains -- what more could you want?".
