Number 12 in the Toucan Novels series. 69th thousand stated on the front cover with the first 24 titles in the series on the back cover. Probably the second printing from 1938 when the final four title listed on the back were first issued. Originally published in hard covers in 1928. The author's real name was Marguerite Florence Laura Jarvis. Quite rare in any edition. The spine is curved with edge rubbing and light chipping at the top and bottom. Browning to the white panel on the front cover and the covers have a little surface marking and discolouration. Browning to the page edges. The covers are pulling away from the text block at the front of the book but the binding is secure enough. The insides of the covers have a little browning. There is a small stain to the first page and last few pages have a small stain to the outer edge. The pages are slightly browned but are otherwise unmarked.
