Hardcover. Condición: new. Hardcover. This book marks the long-term installation of Robert Gobers (born 1954) seminal Untitled (1992) at Glenstone Museum. Untitled is an immersive, multi-sensorial installation with diverse constituent parts: sinks with running water, darkened exterior pathways, a brightly-lit interior chamber, a hand-painted 360-degree mural and discrete sculptural elements made to appear like prison windows, boxes of rat bait and bundles of newspaper. Robert Gober includes never-before-published archival images of the works original presentation at the Dia Center for the Arts in New York, an oral history based on interviews with the artist and collaborators, an original essay by author Jim Lewis and extensive imagery of the piece as installed at Glenstone Museum. Shipping may be from multiple locations in the US or from the UK, depending on stock availability.…

Hardcover. Condición: As new. Square Quarto. Hardcover. Strip style jacket. Board are bound in grey cloth with a belly band. 47 pages : illustrations (some color), plans ; 33 c. American sculptor Michael Heizer (born 1944) was among the first artists to reject the white cube gallery space in favor of the open land and majestic vistas of the western United States. Michael Heizer marks the unveiling of 'Collapse' (1967/2016) and 'Compression Line' (1968/2016) at Glenstone Museum. Monumental in scale but composed with rhythm and elegance, the two sculptures individually embody opposing aspects of Heizer's sculptural practice: beams exploding from an unseen depth and a sliver of space compressed so precisely that the viewer is unaware of the vast negative area hidden beneath it. This book includes an interview with the artist, previously unpublished archival images and extensive process and installation photography. Exhibition: Glenstone Museum, Potomac, USA (on permanent display from 18/10/2018).…

Hardback. Condición: New. In his sculptural practice, American artist Charles Ray (born 1953) has long been fascinated by the concept of representation, the depiction of the human form and questions of scale. Known for his keen sense of-and respect for-the uncanny, Ray has carved a widely admired path that crisscrosses the arenas of minimalism and conceptual art, while continually pushing the boundaries of visual perception. This book marks the long-term exhibition of works at Glenstone Museum selected by the artist, including Baled Truck (2013), a sculpture made of solid machined stainless steel, emblematic of the artist's meticulous fabrication process. It also includes a conversation with-and text by-the artist and installation photography.…

Hardcover. Condición: VG (light scratches, rubs). grey cloth boards w/ silver-stamped printing; 125 pgs w/ bw & color illustrations. For nearly 50 years Japanese-born artist On Kawara (29,771 days) devoted himself to a quiet practice of marking time, incrementally, via various methods and media. He is best known for a continuous series of monochromatic canvases, collectively titled Today, upon which each work's date of execution is painted in precise white script. This installation features three Date Paintings from the Today series (1966-2013) by On Kawara that together commemorate the Apollo 11 lunar landing mission in July 1969. Each large-scale canvas bears a date documenting the mission's launch (July 16, 1969), the landing of the lunar module (July 20), and man's first steps on the moon (July 21). The Moon Landing triptych is installed in a skylighted room designed in close collaboration with the artist and his estate.--Glenstone Museum Website.…

Hardcover. Condición: VG (scuffs to cloth boards). Blue cloth boards with white inset and white lettering. 211 pages : illustrations (chiefly color), portraits. The trailblazing work of French - born American artist Louise Bourgeois (1911-2010) will be the subject of a five-decade survey exhibition featuring more than 30 works, all from Glenstone's collection, including a recently acquired master piece that was realized at a pivotal moment in her career: the 1974 installation "The Destruction of the Father." On view in the exhibition will be a selection of early wooden "Personage" sculptures; pieces in bronze, marble, plaster, and rubber; suites of drawings and prints; textile-based works; and room-like installations that she called "Cells." In these works Bourgeois forged a unique vocabulary, powerfully and idiosyncratically expressing psychic states and emotions such as anger, fear, and loneliness, and often evoking a sense of disquiet about the strangeness of the human body. In 1974, Bourgeois made a precursor to these Cells with her first installation, The Destruction of the Father, a theatrically-lit diorama depicting primal violence served up as a commentary on domineering father figures and the imaginary revenge they inspire. Exhibition: Glenstone Museum, Potomac, USA.…
