The Dust Jacket is intact, bright and clean. Smart purple hardcovers with a golden gun embossed into the centre of the hardcover. The 279 pages are bright and clean and the spine is tight. The authors are without question amongst the world's leading authorities on British gunmakers. This copy is being sold by a long established UK bookseller and not a mass lister., which infers that there are no nasty surprises and the book is just as described. It does have a very, very slight musty aroma. An excellent copy of a scrupulously well researched books. Kindly note that an international order will incur an extra postal charge due to weight.

Oeriginal binding in blue cloth lettered gilt at spine.Synopsis: Most British gunmakers between 1760 and 1860 possessed a trade card with the result that they provide a natural chronology of the trade, as well as being in themselves an example of the engraver's art. Around 1790 they stopped being just business cards and were increasingly pasted inside the lid of a gun case. The authors have provided a photographic index of these cards, together with an historical account of the case and its content. They have produced a work of deep interest to all gun collectors but also have provided and essential work of reference for authentication and dating of firearms of the period. Very good indeed in very good indeed dust jacket.
