A few scratches on the spine leather, and unevenness of color. Although most leaves are clean, there are leaves afflicted with heavy-ish foxing, by which we mean pronounced in some way -- the size and/or darkness of the markings or the clustering of markings. A few leaves with a dampstain, and other soiling. The plates, on a different, glossy paper stock, are generally clean. Notwithstanding a fairly attractive shelf presence, this copy gives us the impression of a certain grittiness. Half Morocco. Marbled paper pastedown on boards.
