It survived three great rainstorms, tons of mud, 70 hours of almost constant use, 315.000 feet of film, 81 hours of sound recording, 500.000 people, and four beautiful days. It survived contact highs, The Who (Crosby - Stills - Nash and Young, Ritchie Havens, Janis Joplin, Jefferson Airplane, Joan Baez, Joe Cocker, Santana, Sly and the Family Stone, and many more), blue and green acid, The Merry Pranksters, Abbie Hoffman, and all the way through (Jimi) Hendrix and Monday. A half million dollars worth of equipment that Wadleigh-Maurice Productions brought up survived.[.] We were stoned on our own energy and enthusiasm and we were going to make it. We knew what the Woodstock Festival was doing to the country and the world. A lot of people were feeling the vibrations from hundreds of miles away, and we got it all on film. We had complete control of the film and made it as adventurous, dynamic, simple, and beautiful as Woodstock itself was. "WOODSTOCK," "THE SOUND OF MUSIC" of the New Karma is a great film. What can we say?." Sprache: Englisch 8°, farbig illustrierte OBrosch.

There are thumb tack holes to all four corners of the poster. There is a wrinkled tear to the top 1/3rd quadrant of the right side of the poster (approx. 1" long) Poster has ink stamped notation: 1SH 70"/127 on the reverse. Woodstock is a 1970 American documentary film of the watershed counterculture Woodstock Festival which took place in August 1969 near Bethel, New York. The film was directed by Michael Wadleigh. Seven editors are credited, including Thelma Schoonmaker, Martin Scorsese, and Wadleigh. Woodstock was a great commercial and critical success. It received the Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature. Schoonmaker was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Film Editing, a rare distinction for a documentary. Dan Wallin and L. A. Johnson were nominated for the Academy Award for Best Sound. The film was screened at the 1970 Cannes Film Festival, but was not entered into the main competition. The 1970 theatrical release of the film ran 185 minutes. A director's cut spanning 224 minutes was released in 1994. Both cuts take liberties with the timeline of the festival. However, the opening and closing acts are the same in the film as they appeared on stage; Richie Havens opens the show and Jimi Hendrix closes it. " (from Wikipedia).
