Contemporary green cloth; jagged chipping at spine heel with patches ascending along spine's upper left exposing quires; underlying quires; shallow wear to spine head; spine's gilt lettering remains fairly bright; slender wear to board edges particularly at bumped corners. Old pencil signature of past owner at top of front pastedown; foxing and soiling to leaves; rear free endpaper removed save for slender stub. One quire (pages 203-212) pulled but binding is otherwise reasonably firm. B/w plates (including frontispiece) on unpaged leaves.
