Hardcover. Condición: Fair. Later printing of the famous cookbook first published in the 19th century. Pictoral cloth, royal 8vo. 605pp. Frontispiece portrait of Lou Henry Hoover. Opposite p. 14 a portrait of Grace Goodhue Coolidge. Photo of the White House opposite p. 94. Although printed on cheap paper which is brown, the entire text block is flexible and appropriate for careful use. Botanical endpapers. Former owner name/address on front paste down. One small tear at corner of frontispiece archivally closed, but showing. Small spot of paper residue lower title page. Binding sound but back joint with paper loss uncovering some of the webbing. Cover mildly soiled and some image loss to illustration on front cover. A label not partial, was applied to the back cover advertising __OD Gross concentrated milk. We graded this copy only fair, but a reasonable "good" or "even good+" is also reasonable.

Cover edges rubbed with two small remnants of cover paper still adhering where the previous owner had protect the book with a paper jacket, 1" split to upper spine area, page edges yellowed, with some small edge tears to severval of the pages, a couple of recipes have pencil notations, some edge wear to fore-edge of last pages, some spotting to front cover, hinges starting, overall tight copy, about Good only; no Dj. (3.5 JM HOQ 100/6 Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
