Provenance from the collection of University of Alabama Department of Anthropology Professor Emeritus Keith Jacobi. A British-American anthropologist who earned his Ph.D. at Columbia University, Montague Francis Ashley Montagu (1905-1999; born Israel Ehrenberg) studied race and gender and their relations to politics and development and was a prolific author who taught initially at Rutgers with later positions at Princeton, Harvard, University of California-Santa Barbara, and New York University.
