Añadir al carritoCondición: Trade paperback, New, New York: Hippocampus Press:, 2015. Trade paperback, New, 550 pp. "H. P. Lovecraft's generous tutelage of younger literary colleagues earned him their lifelong devotion and admiration. Few profited more by his assistance than Robert Bloch, who went on to become the celebrated author of Psycho and other classic works of horror and suspense. Establishing a correspondence with Lovecraft when he was sixteen, Bloch learned so much about the craft of writingand about other mattersthat he later stated: 'Lovecraft was my university.' This volume brings together Lovecraft's complete extant correspondence with Bloch as well as with such other young writers, editors, and fans of the 1930s as Kenneth Sterling (who collaborated with Lovecraft on 'In the Walls of Eryx'), Donald A. Wollheim (editor of the 'Phantagraph' and a leading figure in science fiction in the decades that followed), Willis Conover (whose 'Lovecraft at Last' is one of the most poignant books ever written about the Providence writer), and others. As in all previous volumes in the Collected Letters series, these letters have been meticulously edited by David E. Schultz and S. T. Joshi, two of the leading authorities on Lovecraft.".

Añadir al carritoCondición: Very Good. Jason Eckhardt Ilustrador. First/1st. A collection of Lovecraft's poetry that Winfield Townley Scott would refer to as "eighteenth-century rubbish." Lovecraft has been razed for his stuffy poetic style and maybe justly; however, they deserve their place the genre of Fantastic Poetry. This 1990 Necro Press publication collects 35 of his more well-known poetic works that are dressed with eight illustrations by Eckhardt. Each has been delightfully checked-off of the contents page in blue ink by a previous reader. Edges show some light wear and spine is lightly dusted with toning. Staples are clean and solid. A very good reading copy or an upgradable copy to complete a collection of Necronomicon press titles. [II-c-2]. Staple bound softcover in light blue pictorial wraps.

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Fine. First Edition/First Printing. A square solid tight clean unread unused copy. Signed by Joshi. From the Introduction by editor S. T. Joshi As the work of H. P. Lovecraft (1890-1937) has now reached a worldwide audience and has been adapted into all manner of media, from films to television to comic books to role-playing games to video games and more, it is difficult to remember that he did not have a single book of his stories published in his lifetime, and that he considered himself a failure in both a commercial and an aesthetic sense. But such a fate often falls upon those artists who revolutionize their fields, and Lovecraft certainly did that. Most of the stories he wrote during his final decade are too long to reprint here, but "The Call of Cthulhu" retains vitality as his initial foray into this complex and ever-developing pseudo-mythology. With this story and its successors, Lovecraft established the genre of weird fiction as a means of conveying both terror and philosophical depth. For all that he was a "failure" (judged purely by commercial considerations) in his lifetime, he ultimately achieved a success unprecedented in the annals of literature. His work is now disseminated across the globe, and he himself has become a cultural icon. In this sense, his posthumous career is a "weird tale" far stranger than anything he ever wrote. THIS COPY IS IN MY POSSESSION AND NORMALLY SHIPS NEXT DAY. Signed Copy. Book.
