With the stamp of a Canadian film distributor on the verso, and one with a manuscript ink annotation on the bottom right corner of the recto noting production No. 77-705. Loosely based on Edgar Allen Poe's 1845 story "The System of Doctor Tarra and Professor Fether." In nineteenth century France, the mentally unstable head doctor of a sanatorium secretly uses the facility's dungeon as a torture chamber for his patients. A Mexican production, shot in Mexico City with a primarily Mexican cast and crew, but filmed in English, and subsequently dubbed into Spanish for Mexican release. The directorial debut of noted Mexican horror filmmaker Joan Lopez Moctezuma, best known for "Alucarda" (1977). 10 x 8 inches. Near Fine.
