Añadir al carritoNo Binding. Condición: Very Good. Henry James' "Aspern Papers", Wyndham's theatre flyer signed by Daniel J. Travanti, Hannah Gordon, Moira Lister, Vivien Heilbron and Vincent Boluda. These are genuine autographs, this is not a photocopy or preprint. Condition: Tidy. Provenance: This came direct from the Jan van Bree estate. Jan van Bree (1938-2024) was a Dutch native and a prolific autograph collector. His collection spanned around fifty albums. It began in 1957 when he wrote to the famous Italian singer Beniamino Gigli and received a handwritten reply. That one letter spurred Jan to write to as many famous people as possible, all over the world and to collect autographs in person. Signed by Author(s).

Añadir al carritoHardcover. Condición: Very Good. Printed in the U.S.A. by Welch, Bigelow, and Company of Cambridge, Massachusetts. Date on the title pages: MDCCCLXIV. [1861 on the copyright pages.] All volumes have footnotes, blank leaves at front and rear, and tables of contents. Volume I has a handsome steel-engraved portrait of Byron as Frontispiece with tissue-protector, Advertisement, Life of Lord Byron by T. H. Lister, and Preface to the First Edition. Pagination: xxxv, 396; 274; 278; 379; 490; 276; 372; 295; 454; 417. The bindings are strong---half-calf over marbled boards---and of mixed condition: four of the ten title-labels on the spines are missing, with a few chips to the number-labels; also, boards and extremities are uniformly affected by rubbing. [Please see my five images of the actual books.] However, the interiors are creamy-bright, supple, and completely clean, with full marbled text-block edges and attractive marbled endpapers. Only one blank leaf has a small tear and there is one spot on an endpaper. Here are the complete works of George Gordon, Lord Byron---one of the most influential (and controversial) figures of the Romantic Movement---from his shorter lyrical works to literary criticism, the well known "Childe Harold's Pilgrimage" and the amusing, satirical "Don Juan." Included are prefaces, introductory passages, historical notes, and excerpts from other authors that enhance the poems. From the Advertisement: "In this reprint of Byron's works, closely following recent English editions, unnecessary notes have here and there been dropped, and many errors of the press corrected. An improved arrangement has been adapted: It is enough to say that all the short 'Occasional Pieces' have been placed, with the 'Hours of Idleness,' in the first volume." As with every book from my father's collection, tipped-in at the front is the small, attractive, acid-free bookplate pictured on my homepage. All books are wrapped with special care and are shipped promptly with tracking; international sales sent via global priority, also with tracking. Please expect to pay a bit extra for shipping these 10 volumes.
