Añadir al carritoThis is a new copy of The Amber Room: The Fate of the World's Greatest Lost Treasure by the British journalists Catherine Scott-Curtis and Adrian Levy. It is a first Canadian edition; it was simultaneously published in Britain and the USA. The Amber Room was an entire room of intricately worked amber panels created in 1717 and gifted to Peter the Great. It remained in St. Petersburg's Catherine Palace until 1941, when the Nazis looted the palace and the entire Amber Room vanished. Many people have searched for it and many more have theories about what happened to it. Here, the authors entered the world of espionage and counterespionage that still surrounds Russia. They were able to get into the archives, found a conspiracy and were able to form a cohesive theory. 386 pages, including maps, photos and index. This book has not been read. Aside from a crease to the inside of the dust jacket, it is in mint condition.
