Wake originally wrote this in 1699 for his parish, but in 1705 he became Bishop of Lincoln and republished it for his diocese. He became Archbishop of Canterbury in 1716, and since the preface is signed as Bishop of Lincoln, its date must be after 1704 and before 1716, probably the 1708 edition. Vg copy bar the missing tp.
