Arnemann (1763-1806) weiß Hirsch / Hübotters Biographisches Lexikon der hervorragenden Ärzte zu vermelden: "Obgleich als Lehrer und Schriftsteller geschätzt und geachtet, sah sich A., seiner vielen Schulden wegen, die durch ein vielleicht etwas zu luxuriöses Leben veranlasst waren, im Februar 1803 genöthigt, Göttingen heimlich zu verlassen. Von Hannover aus war man geneigt, ihm zu helfen; aber da er sich unartig bezeigte, so musste der Concurs eröffnet werden.
