Illustrated by wood engravings, including frontispiece. Decorated by title page and head and tailpiece vignettes and by initials. Collected edition of a work issued in seven parts. There is an emphasis on providing suitable aviaries for the different species, reflecting the Victorian desire to cage their song birds.
