Trade Paperback. Condición: Fine. Brand new from author. 2021 Trade Paperback. 159 pp. In August and September of 1978, the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations conducted hearings that were designed to delve into the world of organized crime, particularly the crime of 'arson for profit.' The hearings were labeled the 'Arson-for-Hire Hearings.' They took place over a two month period and consisted of four days of testimony. The hearings were transcribed into 487 pages of testimony concerning arson in the United States. The testimony of Angelo Monachino, Rochester Mafia Soldier, took up approximately 27 of those pages from page 36 to page 62 of the document. Rochester Mob informant Angelo Monachino was just one of many witnesses subpoenaed to testify before the committee. His testimony before the United States Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations is Part One of this book. Angelo Monachino described in great detail the 'arson operation' of the Rochester Mafia. He also gave a first hand account of the 'Jimmy the Hammer' Massaro murder in 1973, which he participated in. On May 2, 1980, the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations continued to conduct hearings into organized crime and produced a similar size document. Organized crime in Rochester, N.Y. was portrayed in that document, in detail, from approximately pages 340 to 370. All of those pages are recreated here in their entirety, unedited, except for the addition of accompanying photos and explanations of people mentioned in the testimony.…

Trade Paperback. Condición: Fine. Brand new direct from author. 2022 Trade Paperback. 213 pp. Black-and-white photographs and facsimiles of documents and news articles throughout. "Life Affiliation with the Mafia is the true story of the Rochester Mafia's dominance of Teamsters Local 398 in Rochester, N.Y. over a 40 year period. From 1957-1997 there were at least 25 'Made' Mafia members or close associates working in the Local in one capacity or another. The mob's control over the union resulted in extortion, shakedowns, unfair elections, and the mob's family and friends being rewarded with good paying union jobs, steward positions, and union officer jobs. Several officers and members of Local 398 were removed from office for being Mafia members or associates. But despite continuous investigations into the connections between organized labor and organized crime by The New York State Crime Commission, the FBI, several grand juries and other agencies, it would take four decades before the ties between organized crime and organized labor were finally severed in Rochester. On March 4, 1986, police conducted both audio and video surveillance of Angelo Amico's suspected gambling parlor located at 273 Central Ave. in Rochester, N.Y. Angelo Amico was the 'Acting Boss' of the Rochester Mafia. The recorded conversation from 9:19 P.M. to 9:26 P.M. was between Angelo Amico and Angelo Misuraca, Vice-President of Teamsters Local 398. During the conversation, Amico clearly gave instructions to Misuraca about how to conduct union business. 'No one gets moved without checking with me first.…
