Clarke was a distance runner who criticized runners who raced in the "Comfort Zone" and never reached their potential. He believed that runners who got comfortable never got out of it, even if it was only by half a second per lap. He also said that pain is something runners learn to live with, and that he was able to get into a rhythm when he was very tired. ALL PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK.
