Laid in, on Waldie's Washington D.C. letterhead, is a letter to Ernest Leff of Beverly Hills. The first paragraph acknowledges holiday greetings and announces the gift of this book; the second paragraph: "You can tell from the awkward construction contained in the foregoing sentence that the enclosed Fair Play for Frogs will be tough going.". This testimony is a thoroughly enjoyable read, if for no other reason than the out-of-touch sensibilities of elected officials then, or the latent hypocrisy of modern-day ones. Near fine; rare.
