Paris 5.VII.1814. Gr.4°. 1 1/2 Seiten auf Doppelblatt mit Adressblatt. Briefkopf "Université Impériale, Académie de Paris, Faculté de médecine. Le Doyen de la Faculté de Médecine de Paris"; mit Siegelabriss, ohne Textverlust. Jean Jeacques Leroux des Tillets (1749-1832), Pariser Arzt, der zur Revolutionszeit als "officier munici…pal" tätig war, und in der Nacht der Erstürmung der Tuilerien (10.8.1792) an der Seite des Königs Ludwig des XVI. blieb. Er wurde 1795 wegen kontrarevolutionären Aktionen zum Tode verurteilt, konnte jedoch entkommen und erhielt unter Napoleon 1814 das Kreuz der Ehrenlegion. Wurde dann Dekan der medizinischen Fakultät. Er starb 1832 an der Cholera. Der Adressat Louis-Benoit Guersent (1777-1848) wurde 1813 aufgrund der Typhusepidemie nach Paris geschickt, um Mittel zu ihrer Bekämpfung zu finden. Später war er Arzt am Hopital des Enfants, wurde Offizier der Ehrenlegion, Mitglied der königlichen Académie der Wissenschaften und beratender Arzt des Königs. Er verfasste wichtige Arbeiten zu Kinderkrankheiten. In diesem inhaltsreichen Brief bittet Leroux Guersent um einen Bericht über seine Erfahrungen während der Typhusepidemie, der bei der Kommission zur Gesundheitsvorsorge eingereicht und später in einem Buch publiziert werden soll *). "A Monsieur Guersent, médecin Monsieur et cher Confrère La commission de salubrité a terminé la mission dont elle a été chargée par le ministre de l'intérieur et elle se dispose à lui en faire un rapport général. Le comité quelle a chargé de rédiger ce rapport a besoin de quelque renseignement particuliers qu'il . de lui transmettre. Ainsi vous pourriez diviser votre travail en deux parties : la première conmprendrait l'historique de la maladie épidémique qui a reigné dans les hospitaux auxqueles vous étiez attaché ou qui s'est rencontré dans votre pratique. L'aspect sous lequel elle s'est présenté le plus communément, sa . ses complications, sa terminaison soit par la guérison, soit par la mort, le mode de traitement que vous avez suivi. Dans la seconde partie, vous émétiez votre opinion fondée sur l'expérience, ou par comparaison avec celle des auteurs qui ont ecrie sur la maladie épidemique du genre de celle qui a ravagé dans un tems malheureux une grande partie des départements. Vous penserez, sans doute, combien ces renseignemens seront précieux au comité chargé de la rédaction du rapport qui deviendra un corps de doctrine ? faisant suite aux ouvrages déjà publiés sur cet objet. Je vous prie au nom du comité de me transmettre ce travail .au .15 de ce mois, afin que je puisse le remettre samedi à la séance du comité. ." *) ? "Ministère de l'intéieur.
