Sein Nachfolger Prof. Dr. Heinz Wittlinger führte neue Operationsverfahren und neue Verfahren zur Schmerzbehandlung unter der Geburt ein. Außerdem baute Prof. Wittlinger ein Zytologisches Untersuchungslabor auf. In den letzten 10 Jahren, seit der Übernahme der Leitung der Bruchsaler Frauenklinik 1999 durch Prof. Dr. Jürgen Wacker, wurden innovative Behandlungsformen und neue Diagnosemethoden zum Nutzen der Patientinnen neben dem Einsatz verbesserter laparoskopischer Operationsverfahren und der Brustchirurgie an der Bruchsaler Frauenklinik eingeführt. Außerdem wurde erstmals im Jahre 2000 mit der Durchführung einer ambulanten Chemotherapie bei der Behandlung gynäkologischer Malignome begonnen. Das vorliegende Buch beleuchtet die Geschichte der Bruchsaler Frauenklinik seit 1958 und beschreibt allgemeinverständlich die Aufgaben des Frauenarztes. Zusammengefasst beschäftigt sich der Gynäkologe und Geburtshelfer mit dem Gebären, Gedeihen und Genesen der ihm anvertrauten Frauen. Neue Aspekte enthält dieses Buches insofern, als auch die sozialmedizinischen Gedanken und neuen Ideen zur Prävention der häuslichen Gewalt vorgestellt werden. Auch die Beiträge zur Geschichte der Bruchsaler Frauenklinik und der Entwicklung des akademischen Lehrkrankenhauses öffnen in der Rückbesinnung die Augen für Zukünftiges. Geschichte wiederholt sich bei der Betrachtung der baulichen Strukturen der Bruchsaler Frauenklinik.
