Lovecraftâs tales of cosmic terror and wonder, Tour de Lovecraft: The Tales provides the ideal companion to the work of the twentieth centuryâs greatest American horrorist.Kenneth Hite turns his game designerâs eye on the structures and connections of Lovecraftâs stories, revealing the threads and themes running between them. Hite alternately ambles and careens through all of the Masterâs horror tales in chronological order from âThe Tombâ to âThe Haunter of the Dark,â offering cheerful opinion, incisive literary criticism, playful speculation, and the occasional unhinged rant. Itâs a response to Lovecraft, and to his occasionally humorless critics, that offers you Edmund Burkeâs Gothic perspective on Cthulhu side-by-side with âThe Haunter of the Darkâ considered as Grail quest. In this new edition, Hite expands his coverage to include Lovecraftâs collaborations and revisions, the sublime sonnet cycle Fungi From Yuggoth, and highlights of HPLâs nonfiction including âSomething About Catsâ and Supernatural Horror in Literature.

Now, expanding on his âLost in Lovecraftâ column in Weird Tales magazine, he conducts a second tour of Lovecraftâs settings: from Arkham to Antarctica, and from New York City to Hyperspace. Tour de Lovecraft: The Destinations drives the hidden routes connecting seemingly unrelated tales. It follows Lovecraftâs tracks into the uncanny landscapes of his fiction, and reads the eldritch signs on the Masterâs map. Hite climbs the crags of Kingsport, delves into Deep Time, and shines a light under the shadows over Innsmouth. With Hite as your driver and Tour de Lovecraft: The Destinations as your guidebook, you canât get lost in Lovecraft even in the loneliest parts of the planet⦠unless you want toâ¦.

Añadir al carrito[African American- Film] Nothing But A Man. Archive of 7 Original Lobby Card Photographs. DuArt Film, 1964. Each measure 10" x 8.25". Archive includes seven black and white movie stills. Nothing But A Man All photographs are bright and clear, in very good condition. Nothing But A Man is a 1964 American independent drama film that tells the story of Duff Anderson, an African-American railroad worker in the early 1960's who tries to maintain his dignity in a small racist town near Birmingham, Alabama, after he marries the local preacher's daughter. In addition to dealing with oppression and discrimination, Anderson must also come to terms with his troubled relationship with his own father, a drunk who abandoned and rejected him. In the film, Ivan Dixon "gives a spectacular depiction of a strong, principled individual who will not bend over for any man, White or Black. It's an early portrait of black pride, presented long before showing pride in being black was accepted." Active in the civil rights movement from 1961, Dixon also served as a president of Negro Actors for Action. One lobby card presents Dixon and Lincoln being harassed by two White men, while another presents Dixon and Lincoln in a tight embrace while she cries on his shoulder. Five lobby cards portray Dixon and Lincoln in various states of bliss---two images out of these five are close up portraits of them. All cards are vibrant and expressive, in very good condition.
