Hardback. Condición: Fine. Estado de la sobrecubierta: Fine. Hard Cover. IDW/Disney Comics 2016. Book condition: NM - Near Mint. Dust Jacket. Full Colour illustrations. Dust Jacket condition: F - Fine. This first of four volumes includes all the strips featuring Bucky Bug, the first Disney character to be originated in newspaper… comics. The book also includes the very first Donald Duck newspaper strip, an adaptation of The Wise Little Hen. Other classic adaptations are Birds of a Feather, Penguin Isle, The Boarding School Mystery (with the Tortoise and the Hare), The Robber Kitten, and Cookieland, an Alice in Wonderland spin-off. Plus, the Mickey Mouse Movies bonus toppers & animated panels, play money and more. After more than 80 years the complete Silly Symphony newspaper strips are collected in English for the first time ever! The artwork for these rare strips has come straight from the Disney vaults. Each page has been meticulously colored using as a guide the original bound file copies that belonged to Walt Disney himself! Excellent introduction by J.B. Kaufman with cool Silly Symphonies cartoon posters and Big Little Book covers from the 1930s. One of the first Bucky Bug stories here is a wild remake of World War I, but in this case it's all in Bugland, with crazy inventions and Bucky as a bedeviled commander. Drawn by Al Taliaferro, this is touted as one of the most elaborately drawn adventures ever in the comic strips up to this time. Taliaferro went on to draw the Donald Duck comic strip adventures (see his daily and Sunday page sections elsewhere on our website) and is one of the unsung geniuses (of which there were many) at Disney. Wonderful work, perfect for both adults and for younger readers, these are all-new original adaptions of the Disney cartoons that were concurrently appearing on theatre screens in the 1930s. Beautiful work and, here, beautifully reproduced as crystal clear as can be, far superior to even the original newspaper printings. 192 pages. Size: 13" x 9" (320mm x 230mm). (2). Earl Duvall, Al Taliaferro, Ted Osborne, Merrill DeMaris (ilustrador).
