Añadir al carritoSoft cover. Condición: Near Fine. Keith Sternberg, Erdahl, Terry Still, Gordon Newell, Evan Thomas, Don Hogue, Fred Bruce Marshall Ilustrador. 1st Edition thus. 4to. (8.5 x 11"), 116p. Profusely illustrated with black and white cartoon drawings by various artists and black and white photos. Cream colored wrappers printed in maroon with a vignette in maroon on the front cover of a tugboat running into a piling. Just touches of wear to extremities, wrappers clean and bright, a touch of soiling at the top of the spine, corners flat and square, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Originally published as "Piling Busters" by Jack P. Shipley, this volume actually contains three books for three separate years describing tow boating experiences in the Puget Sound area: 1950 [pp. 1-42], 1951 [pp. 43-92]; and 1952 [pp. 93-116]. This is a collection of stories by hundreds of tugboat and towboat men, each one attributed to a single individual. Jack P. Shipley was President of Piling Busters, Inc. and was on the Editorial Board of the publication. Just a treasure trove of interesting, charming and humorous stories told by the men whose experiences they narrate. A rare find and a "must have" for anyone interested in tug boats or tow boats.
