Assistentin bei Ernst Neufert und arbeitete für Candilis-Josic-Woods in Paris. Ab 1977 lehrte sie an der Städelschule in Frankfurt a. M. und erhielt 10 Jahre später einen Ruf an die TU Berlin, wo sie mit Ausnahme einer Gastprofessur am MIT bis zu ihrer Emeritierung 2005 blieb.
