Condición: Sehr gut. Zustand: Sehr gut | Seiten: 492 | Sprache: Englisch | Produktart: Bücher | The idea of this NATO school was born during philosophical discussions with Dr Brevard on the present and future of NMR during a night walk under the palm trees in Biskra during a seminar held in this oasis. It was clear for us that the recent progress in the field of NMR, especially inverse spectroscopy and the development of MAS, was opening new perspectives for chemists. We realised also that organometallic and inorganic chemists were not clearly informed about the potentialities of all the new methods. NA TO, with its summer schools, was offering a good opportunity to propose to the chemical community a session where those problems would be largely developped. This School is then the prolongation of the two previous ones: Palermo in 1976 on "the less receptive nuclei" and Stirling in 1982 on "the multinuclear approach to NMR spectroscopy" . It was divided into two sub-sessions: NMR in the liquid state and NMR in the solid state. This is reflected in the book organization. As indicated by the title of this School, we were mainly concerned with the methodological aspects of multinuclear NMR. If many examples are given, they appear only as a support for the understanding of the theory or in explanation of some practical aspects of the different experiments. Each domain is introduced by a lecture which presents selected examples.

Hardcover. Condición: Very Good condition. Estado de la sobrecubierta: No dust jacket. NOT a library discard Ilustrador. First Printing of the First Edition. Philadelphia: W. B. Saunders Company, 1975. Very Good condition. NOT a library discard. NO owner's name or bookplate. NOT a remainder. NO underlining. NO highlighting. NO margin notes. Bound in the original gilt-stamped light blue pictorial cloth. From the Preface: "This monograph on the body fluids and their regulation is the second volume in this series on circulatory physiology. The text of the monograph is written with the belief that modern physiology and modern medical practice fuse into a common science. Therefore, we have presented very basic data as well as analysis of the body fluid control mechanisms and have also attempted to show the applicability of the basic principles to many clinical problems of body fluid regulation. .important keystones to understanding the overall logic of the body fluid system [included here] are as follows: 1. Development of the concept of negative interstitial fluid pressure.[and] how the body stabilizes interstitial fluid volume. .[also] explains the critical occurrence of edema when an abnormality of the circulation or kidneys develops beyond the threshold point. 2. Discovery of new principles related to tissue gel has made it possible to understand both convective & diffusional characteristics of fluid movement through the tissues. 3. Discovery of many new find points of structure of the lymphatic capillaries, especially description of the 'anchoring filaments' & the valve-like character of the endothelial junctions in the lymphatic capillaries making possible to construct a logical picture of lymph formation. 4. Quantitative analyses of all the processes involved in edema formation have made possible the development of the concept of 'safety factor against edema'. 5. The systems analysis approach to analyzing physiological mechanisms.in determining quantitative importance of different factors in body fluid regulation. .Most important of all, we have attempted to show that the mechanisms for control of the body fluids are suddenly beginning to display a logical pattern, a pattern that is being substantiated by experiment and that clarifies many of the important problems of both the basic and the clinical scientists.". First Printing of the First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good condition/No dust jacket. Illus. by NOT a library discard. vii, 397pp. Great Packaging, Fast Shipping.

Taschenbuch. Condición: Neu. This item is printed on demand - Print on Demand Titel. Neuware -The idea of this NATO school was born during philosophical discussions with Dr Brevard on the present and future of NMR during a night walk under the palm trees in Biskra during a seminar held in this oasis. This School is then the prolongation of the two previous ones: Palermo in 1976 on 'the less receptive nuclei' and Stirling in 1982 on 'the multinuclear approach to NMR spectroscopy' . Each domain is introduced by a lecture which presents selected examples.Springer Verlag GmbH, Tiergartenstr. 17, 69121 Heidelberg 492 pp. Englisch.
