Despite this, their love seems doomed from the start. Criseyde is seduced and then abandoned by Teculus, Troilus' brother, and Troilus is killed in battle. An appropriate purchase from here in HayonWye at the foothills of the Black Mountains, where Eric Gill, sculptor, letter cutter, typeface designer, printmaker and controversial figure lived and worked in his artists community. Gravestones he caved can be seen here at the nearby chapel of St Marys at Capel y fin Chapel at the End of the Road, and on the BBC building in London. Gill also invented Gill Sans Serif typeface.
