Bound in red boards with black embossed vignette to the front board and gilt embssed lettering to the spine. Illustrated with 14 b/w photographic plates as called for, including a frontispeice plate with tissue guard. There is some fading to the spine with a few light stains to the strip. There are bumps to the head and tail of the spine with a slight split to the tail of the spine and slight nik to the head of the spine. Previous owners bookplate to the front paste down with a little ghosting to the opposing front end paper. There are a few foxspots to the front fore edges and a few pages have been forced open with some loss to the page margins. No loss of text. There are a few pencil marks in the margins of a few pages. The book is otherwise clean and tight. A very good copy.
